NALESBITAN

Project Stage:

Early exploration with a near-term focus on community development work

Excellent Copper Porphyry Potential:

The Nalesbitan Project is only 15km west of the Mabilo development project in the historic Paracale Gold District in Eastern Luzon. The 1,161 hectare project area is the site of gold production dating back to the early 20th century. The Project covers a large zone of alteration in which widespread zones of epithermal gold, silver and copper have been outlined.

There is strong potential for a porphyry copper deposit at depth and three porphyry targets have been identified. The Nalesbitan system has similarities to the giant Lepanto/Far South-East copper and gold porphyry system in northern Luzon.

Historic Overview

  • Nalesbitan is approximately 25km southwest of the Paracale Gold District — one of the largest historic gold-producing regions in the Philippines with recorded gold production dating from the 12 century. Historic gold production in the Paracale District is estimated at 5 million ounces.
  • The area surrounding Nalesbitan Hill was reportedly worked for gold in the late 1800s. The project area has been worked throughout the 20th century (changing hands several times) leading to a number of areas of mineralization being outlined within the alteration zone around Nalesbitan Hill. Artisanal mining continues today.
  • The Nalesbitan Project was acquired by Sierra Mining (now RTG) in November 2011. Additional information on the acquisition Here

NALESBITAN GEOLOGY

  • The Nalesbitan Project covers a large zone of alteration in which widespread zones of epithermal gold, silver and copper have been outlined. There are seven main project areas including Nalesbitan Hill, Millsite, Singko, Venus Springs, New Horizon, Bagong Dose  and UPD Flats. The most advanced of these areas is Nalesbitan Hill deposit with an Inferred Mineral Resource Estimated published by Sierra Mining in 2012.
  • Nalesbitan Hill represents a large, high-sulphidation epithermal gold mineralizing system with an intense alteration halo. Typically these deposits occur in close proximity to volcanic centres and underlying porphyritic intrusions.
  • Induced Polarisation chargeability anomalies, interpreted to be due to sulphides associated with porphyry copper mineralisation, have been outlined in the southern part of the alteration zone. Three copper porphyry targets have been identified by RTG Management for future exploration work.

Targets identified include 4 high-sulfidation, copper-rich targets, 3 low-sulfidation pure gold targets, and 3 copper porphyry targets.
